My name is Kaitlyn Ledford and I am the children’s director for Freeway Marshfield. I have loved spending time with children for as long as I can remember. Even as a teen and young adult, you could always find me sitting at the kids table and playing hide and seek on the holidays. I was involved in early childhood education and nursing classes in high school.
After spending 10 years in addiction, I surrendered my life to Christ in 2013 and was radically changed into a new creation. I moved to Springfield from KC to start a new life and was invited to Freeway Ministries my very first night. I fell in love with Freeway right away. It was so encouraging for me to see people who were solid in their walk with the Lord and had so much victory in their lives, but they had rough pasts just like me. Childcare was the first place I served at the original Freeway ministries. I was discipled through Freeway and got involved in the activities with the first women’s discipleship house.
I have a Child Development Associates Credential and numerous continuing education credits including mandated reporter trainings, CPR & first aid certification, classroom discipline, and trauma-informed care. I was a Pre-K teacher for 3 years, preschool director for 3 years, and I am in my 3rd year as a behavioral health provider in school based services. I am a graduate of The Timothy Project internship at Freeway ministries and I have also been a mom since 2018.
I remember the first ever Freeway Marshfield service in 2014, back when it was at the community center, and I helped serve in child care temporarily during the launch. I moved to Marshfield in 2019 and love being a part of this wonderful community. I am now a member of CrossBridge Baptist Church, after being trained in ministry and sent out from Crossway Baptist Church, and I can see how God has brought many things in my life full-circle to bring me here. I enjoy combining all of my life experiences to foster a Christ-Centered, safe, and loving environment for our children here at Freeway Marshfield!
